Shabby Abbey, should I stay or should I go?

Hi everyone, We had trouble with Abbey a couple of years back so opened a Nationwide account very happy.
But we didn't close the Abbey one so later when I needed to pay wages into an account, not our everyday one, I started using the Abbey one again.
Went into the branch and saw a notice that if more than £1000 goes into the account each month I can register for Premium service. So I did and everything has been fine. You even get a special phone number where someone in the UK answers! 08456066359 But don't tell them I gave it to you!
Hope this posting doesn't put a jinx on it.0 -
Opened an account with abbey with no problems. Putting money into your account in the branch is almost impossible (unless you have a minimum of half an hour to spare), call centres are rude and hang up.
The weird thing is that the best service i recieved from them was from one of their indian call centres on easter monday. When i got through to a British call centre service was horrendous. Surely, abbey should be striving for good service everywhere?
A lovely lady who rang me in the call centre where i work informed me that HSBC are very efficient.0 -
I've decided not to change from Abbey Business for my business account cause I've noted they're pretty much the only one that does free business banking.
Think I might just stick with Barclays or move back to First Direct who've been good to me since day one.
(Knightstyle you sound like you work for Abbey!....for the personal side of banking with Abbey I'd advise a barge pole is needed and it's one place you shouldn't touch with it!)
