Strictly Come Dancing Tickets

Not a fan but mum is, so every year I apply for audience tickets for the regular show & the Christmas Special
This year I've been lucky enough to be allocated tickets for the Christmas Special but deep in the small print, it states that they issue more tickets than they have seats so you're not guaranteed a seat.
The only way to be allocated a seat is to get your ticket validated & the validation starts at 9 am so anyone who has a far way to travel runs the risk of spending money on travel & (probably) hotels which aren't needed.
Mum won't now go and run that risk which is a shame.

That is the norm for all BBC shows I've been to, it's the only way to ensure a packed audience. It's not so bad for the radio shows, as the validation usually starts 2 hours before the actual doors open, which means there is time for a quick meal before the show..0

Standard for every free TV event, they don't want any empty seats and people think that if its free it doesn't matter if they apply, get tickets, and don't turn up, as its cost them nothing.
How about travelling the night before?0 -
We had the same issue with the Michael Ball/ Alfie Boe special. Frustrating (and typically London centric) but you can understand why they do it.0

I did suggest going up the night before but mum still wouldn’t go due to the cost.
Shame really.0
