Changes to Nationwide Credit Card Insurance

Got a flyer along with this months Nationwide credit card statement highlighting changes to the 'Insurance ' on the card.
It states that the following insurances will be removed as of 28th February 2018 :-
Extended Warranty cover - Didn't actually know this existed.
Travel Accident cover - again, wasn't aware of this insurance
But the final one seems to be the removal of cover that I thought existed with any credit card purchase - Purchase protection cover. It states that as of 28th February you will no longer be covered for lost or damaged items within 100 days of purchase (applies to goods costing more than £50.00).
Is this part of a trend amongst all CC providers or is it just Nationwide who have made these changes?

Purchase protection cover has always been offered on only a few credit cards, in the uk at least.
Are you getting this confused with chargeback or section 75 cover, these will be unaffected.0 -

Possibly I am, it just seemed to be something I assumed was common to all providers. Fortunately I have never needed it (so far).0
