Car finance and cancelling rights

Hi
Just some advice please.
My husband brought a car on finance from a seller who had his own car company from his house. He signed the contract and paid 500 deposit. The car was delivered last night. After him driving this car to work on a 2 hour journey he doesn't like the car at all they way it drives. My question is what rights do we have if any to cancel the agreement. The seller says he doesn't want the car back. The finance company said we could cancel the finance. But where does that leave us with the car and deposit and seller??? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did a test drive not occur, isn't exactly sellers problem?Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0

Unless the goods fail to conform to contract, you entered into the contract wholly at a distance or the seller permits change of mind returns, you have no legal right to return the car.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Yes test drive happened...like most people test cars...but usually untill a car has been on a good drive you cant truly see if there is a fault or in our case doesn't handle great on long journeys. And dislikes the cars performance. However my issue is what are our rights? . Not who's to blame .0

So there is no cooling off period?? Even when you sign for a loan you have time to change your mind if you return the money?0

Cooling off period won't apply if he signed the paperwork on the dealer's premises.
Some more information here - they are two aspects to your problem, cancelling the Finance and cancelling the car.... http://personal.natwest.com/personal/life-moments/buying-a-car/buying-your-car.html0 -
Is there a fault? In which case aske the seller to fix it
If you just don’t like it , then I think you are stuck with it0 -
The finance company said we can cancel the agreement. We have the car...so surly the seller will want the car back? As we don't have the funds to buy it or we wouldn't have got the finance on it. ...0

Assuming the finance company will want there money back from the seller...so the seller is left with no payment nor a car.0
