What will happen to MBNA AmEx Airline cards ?

Hi
I've got the MBNA Eithad Guest American Express & Visa duo cards. I've noticed all MBNA Airline cards are no longer available for new applications, and I read that AmEx are withdrawing all non direct AmEx cards (not sure on their official name).
My account is about 8 months old, and when the withdrawal happens will the account just be closed or will the account be transferred to a standard MBNA visa or MasterCard ?
I know no one knows exactly what happens, but I know previous AmEX/Visa duo cards have been withdrawn in the past so just looking for a bit of info on what may happen.

Barclays just issued a replacement Visa credit card with new account details and reduced reward values.0

Unsure how it's going to go with MBNA. AmEx is cutting it's third party licenses so it will only issue its own cards from now on. It's been around for a while now and MBNA did withdraw the American Airlines duo AmEx and Visa card and replace it with just a visa card with adjusted rewards BUT this also got pulled to new applicants. They all say it's to due with the fees being capped what they charge retailers but with the new visa offer being pulled it appears they are cutting back on all perks. Cashback cards seen rates cut as well. They will probably honour deal on your cards until expiry date.0

They will likely switch them over to a standard MBNA Visa/MC unless the brand (airline in this instance) wants to sponsor them or MBNA introduce an annual fee.
