I'm not surprised, second hand mobile homes can indeed be practically worthless

My friend paid over £22,000 only 4 years ago for it. Hard to believe it's now worthless.
  • I think, if you wanted to do some research from afar, you could try the specialist estate agents, ring the site and some other sites in the area, and get an idea of what the mobile home might sell for. I realise you are a long way from the executor - were you also a long way from your friend, and have you seen his mobile home recently?
There is a lot of very particular detail to the way in which sales of mobile homes, ground rents and upkeep are managed. I don't know those details - just enough to know it is complicated.

So, as you are at a distance, it seems that you can either do some research, if you have the time and inclination; with a view to mounting a challenge depending on your findings. Or you can just say 'thanks' for what you are getting, and, as you said, enjoy spending it while you can.

Only you know what will work best for you.

Thanks for your advice. Have decided to take it no further. I'm grateful to my old friend remembering me in his will. Really haven't got inclination to pursue it. Will treat myself to something special in memory of my friend.
