Early Heathrow T2 flight

Hi folks,
I have a 7am flight from Heathrow in a couple of weeks. I was planning to drive to a nearby hotel the night before, then drive and park in the airport long stay for the weekend.
However, I wonder if this is more hassle than it's worth - perhaps staying a few miles away on a regular rail link might be easier and cheaper.
I'm coming from the South West to start with - does anybody have any top tips?
Thanks
J

I am in the SW and travel up to all terminals by car, usually the night before. Depending on which terminal we use a hotel with parking combo. It means we don't have the worry of the M5/M4 traffic and can use one of the buses/Hoppa or Uber to get to the terminal in the morning.
This site is useful.

The Renaissance is a decent hotel with good parking rates and close to your Terminal. The free bus stop is almost just outside.0 -
As above, I get a hotel with parking deal, ideally one on the Bath Road and use the free bus. Either the Renaissance or the Park Inn are my two top choices but all of the others are much of a muchness for one night.
Have a look at http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/ for deals
There are also a couple of Travelodges and Premier Inns in the area so check them separately.0 -

Just to add, if you go through the MSE link for Holiday Extras, it can give further discounts than you normally see.

I used AirBnb for a one night stop near to T5 and the guy let me park the car for free-for 7 days!

And they usually have good cashback rates on Quidco and TCB.0 -
I live in the far SW and travel alone so my ecomomics may not be yours.
My preference is to drive most places. However the last two times I've flown from Heathrow I've travelled by National Express-much cheaper then driving and parking or the train-and a big plus for me was not having to handle my case on the train.
I stay at a Premier Inn the night before and after and use a Hoppa (cheaper if booked with the NX ticket) or free Heathrow train.
The London Toolkit is a very useful site.
Obviously if there are two or more travelling there are different considerations.
Enjoy your holiday.0
