  • I havent needed to do my older sons room (he's almost 9) since he was about 5, I told him that when Father Christmas walks into his room on christmas eve he'll think that he's got so many toys that he doesnt need anymore so he needs to sort out all the ones he doesnt play with anymore, also the broken ones as they'll make father christmas think he cant look after his toys. Works well for us, he always makes sure they're sorted out well before christmas & that there are empty draws etc for the new stuff.

Satisfying when you sort through a box of 'things' (was a microwave box so pretty big) you find and the amount you keep you only need a shoe box. Bin is looking rather full however  Hope everyone else is enjoying their flinging.
One day I might be more organised...........

Told him next time he goes on a rescue mission in the bin I'm pushing him in and shutting the lid!

I am sure this will be moneysaving..as in not having to buy xmas prezzies.lol

Cooltrikerchick, I am normally the same as you, as in try to hide evrything to make it a little tidier. However, i have been quite good the last few years. I will be sorting stuff out to take to a car boot in the next few weeks.:T :T

I've done 3 binbags just of rubbish fromt he girls room.. I haven't even touched the clothes cupboards I want to rifle through and fling as I go.

Lil_me .. I thought we had chucked everythign we could when we moved house.. and then threw out twice as much once we got to unpacking (half of which I haven't even touched 2 years later!!) it breeds.. you have been warned!!

I aim to at least have a bit mre of the house decorated before the end of this year.. we have4 rooms which so far have not been touched!! One is the indoor garage which I cleared during the summer holidays but it appears to have disappeared once again.. next weekend maybe, once I've gutted the girls room.. oh.. did I mention they hate me because I recycled the ancient school exercise books.. do they REALLY need them 3 years later??

*sigh* I suppose I'd better get started soon too.. Not looking forward to it though but at least we get to enjoy having a reasonably tidy house for all of about a day,we too have a rebounding rubbish pile it seems the boys always find uses for something that hasn't seen the light of day for years :rotfl:

Ok ok, I know when i'm beaten! have sorted through three baskes of stuff upstairs plus a box of paperwork downstairs, and kept telling myself "bit less to do before Christmas" (Not convinced tho', that box of paperwork reproduces whenever my back's turned.)
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Want to clean my house before Christmas...the tribe will start arriving on 19th December and that includes a friend whose baby is due on 26th ...think I'll go away!

I have serious difficulty in throwing things away so have to declutter at least three times before I find anything to put in a black sack...IYKWIM! make an effort every so often but most things go to one of the sheds and I have tantrums when anyone wants to clear them out.

    I'll start to-morrow
