Totally lost about PPI

Hello everyone,
I am totally lost with all this PPI. I have used the ideas on line (as best as I can follow them in my limited brain) and so far my credit is good and my ownbank says they have nt got any PPi payments to make to me - but I have had life insurance, endownments and mortages, loans since 1993 which may have paybacks due - yet I do not have all the paperwork or even know all the names of the companies - but Standard Life is one! What can I do? I am starting to think that using a third party may be easier for me?

  • Only use a third party if you have more money that you need, a lot of time on your hands and want to reduce your chances of success.

You seem to be approaching this as if you're collecting Pokemon cards. No one had PPI payments to make to you - you make a complaint to any lender you believe mis sold you PPI and they investigate it.

Life Insurance doesn't have PPI. Neither does an endowment policy, car insurance, pet insurance or your supermarket shopping.

You may have had it on credit cards, loans or mortgages. If you did, you send you complaint to the provider of each.

If you're not sure, you could ask them first or send a SAR.

You will still need complaint reasons - having PPI wasn't a crime and in some instances, very sensible.

A third party will still expect you to give them the info about which companies you had PPI with and why you believe you were mis-sold. So not a lot of help to you.....
