7 kwh per day is perfectly normal. I have solar panels, live on my own and am out all day and still use about 4-5 kwh per day.
4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.
  • I called up my supplier and cancelled the meter test.

They said they're rolling out smart meters towards the start of next year but couldn't give a date. I'll chase again in two months.

Still not sure how my neighbour's consumption is 2-3kwh per day but I'll leave it for now until I have a smart meter installed.
  • Yes they're all in the same cupboard. Checked that it's mine by turning it off!
One way to establish your meter is to put the kettle on and watch for your meter s little red light start to flash faster. It slows when the kettle switches off.
All electric meters are powered by a separate feed and stay on all the time. You cannot switch it off at your mains switch
