Hi Moderator/s and senior members!
I have a problem regarding my holidays. Basically, I think I have taken all my holidays I am entitled to take for this year but according to my employer (direct line manager and HR) i have still got few more days to take before dec. Bit confused what should I do now? I know the repercussions for being dishonest but am I not being too opportunistic for accepting it? I checked and confirmed with them about any outstanding holidays and they have confirmed and approved the remaining few weeks according to their system. If I were them, I could simply find it that I have used all my holiday entitlements for the year. Should I be naive and continue as this is bugging me nervously. Please enlighten me!

I'm neither of those things.
However I would suggest you ask them for a calculation if you're not sure it is correct.
How many days have you taken? What does your contract entitle you to? And what is your working pattern? We can work it out for you.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
You’ve asked and further had the situation confirmed, enjoy the a/l.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Total entitlement 29 days (including bank hoilidays). Holidays taken 29. Full time for past 3 years.0

Ask for the list of holidays they think you have taken and compare with your list.0

Do this! Give them a list of the dates you have taken if it differs. It isn't worth the grief when they discover that something wasn't on the system. And being honest, if that's the fact, can be useful - you never know when you want to be trusted on your word!0 -
You didn't carry any over from the previous year did you?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

Thank you all for your valuable inputs. I think my line manager didn't update it with the HR since they didn't receive my previous approved holiday forms and so the record is not updated in their system (at least partially). I don't remember when I took my holidays and didn't keep the copy of it as well. No, nothing was carried over from the previous year.0

They haven't got the complete list of holidays forms I have submitted and that's the reason, I think, they can confirm the remaining holidays for the year.0

then just be honest....if they find out it doesn't look good and they possibly could claim the money back off you (though I'm not sure on the legalities of this so someone may correct me on this)Thank you all for your valuable inputs. Looks like my line manager must have misplaced my slip and hence the HR didn't update their spreadsheet with actual days I have been on holiday. I was really surprised to find an incomplete list of my slips on the file.0
