Can you use a post office box for receiving correspondence from the DWP?

Generally only if you are NFA (no fixed address) and even then it's preferred if you can use a proper address for mail.0

I didn’t think so, I don’t mind them having my address but I’m waiting for my MR reconsideration and the stress going home every day to see if a brown envelope is waiting for me is really starting to get to me. I’d feel better if I knew the envelope wasn’t coming and I could go check the box on a Friday after work or something.0 -

Could you get one of those external post boxes that fasten on your wall? You wouldn't be able to see what's in it so could check it when you're up to it, or ask someone to open it for you.
Or if that's not practical one of those cages that go on the back of the door to stop dogs getting at the post? Cover the outside with material so you can't see in it?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

We can’t fix anything externally because we are in a flat and the external walls are owned/managed (never quite sure which) by a factor.
Our front door slides so can’t have anything attached to it. I know that’s weird but this whole house is sliding doors with buttons that myself or the dog can push and I can wheel through, kind of like the ones you get in a hospital.
I’m moving soon (as in in the next 3 weeks) and camping at my in laws (fun) for a month while our new house gets adapted (huge job including an extension and internal lift) so I don’t want to buy stuff to come up with a creative solution and I am going to get a box at the post office anyway as I don’t want my nosey MIL going through my post (yes she has a history, she’s lovely but really really nosey).0 -

If a PO Box was permitted, all DWP post would go there. If you only wanted to use it for one benefit it would certainly create problems. Any address change is flagged to many other benefits (not sure how many) and that change puts a suspense on the claim until there is manual intervention.0 -

I only claim PIP so that’s not a problem0
