Mouse problems with my MacAir

Hi I have a MacAir lap-top that has developed problems when I try to use the mouse pad, its only useable if I tap it smartly to make it repond.I am very careful with it and it only started to happen this afternoon Its not been dropped or damaged at all ,do you think its worth me taking to the apple store for them to see if they can sort it out ??

    Try this...
    Shut down your Mac.
Using the built-in keyboard, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time. Hold these keys and the power button for 10 seconds.
    Release all keys.
Press the power button again to turn on your Mac.

Got it from this official apple support page

Or you can pop into apple store and they will be happy to help :)

  • Well what started out as a quick trip to Bluewater was extended as when I got there (around 20 miles away ) I found that the store has been closed for a refurbishment and won't be opened for at least another three months or more. So undeterred I then drove a further 10 miles to Lakeside and finally saw someone in there at 12 .00 who said OK you need to see someone at the 'Genius Bar' and booked me a time slot for 2.45 this afternoon. I asked if it was OK to go and have lunch and a quick look around the sho,ps and he said yes no probs we will text you when you are near to being seen !!!

an hour and a half later I recieved a text and by that time I was at the other end of the shopping mall so I made my way as quickly as I could, bearing in mind I use a stick to walk with and got to the shop in about 12 minutes ,by which time they had given my 'slot ' to someone else Grrr, I then had to wait yet another hour and a quarter until I was seen as I said no way would I leave the shop just in case. Eventually I was seen by a 'Genius' from the bar who carted my lap-top off and five minutes later returned with it mended, apparently the tiny spring underneath the pad had worked loose and it just needed tightening up. eventually left the shop around 3.20 with my laptop repaired and most of the day spent sitting in the apple shop awaiting my 'genius ' Glad its sorted but I think they could get more 'genius's working there, amazing amount of sales chaps around but few of the genius types :):):)

All fixed though and I think the chap didn't have the bottle to charge me for the ten minutes of the 'Genius's time :):):)

    Cheers chums
