North Face -false advertising

Not quite. They are also obliged to correct the false information as soon as reasonably practical.
Well yes, but sadly you aren't in a position to dictate what the company does!
The only people in a position to dictate what the product listing says are:
- The decision makers within the business (you've done your bit in notifying them about the error so ball is in their court).
- The likes of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) or other relevant body who handles complaints, if you deem it necessary for an external body to be made aware.
That's all you should be concerned about. As long as your consumer rights are upheld (full refund) then that's you sorted and boxed off.0 -
You do need to also stop fixating on the price, North Face are as much a fashion brand these days as a manufacturer of quality outdoor gear meaning different styles will have different price tags regardless of their function. On their own website under the women’s down jacket section their 3rd from cheapest jacket is a 700 fill, yet their most expensive but nicer looking jacket is only 550 fill. They are not as sale or clearance prices, just two different designs with different qualities at different prices. The men’s have similar pricing for quality vs design.
It could very well be that the design you chose is one of the more fashionable designs so fetching a higher price than some not as nice looking but better quality ones.0 -
It's not the "middle of winter"!
I bought a Mountain Equipment jacket last February which I've not tried yet in cold weather. I'm reasonably confident, however, that it'll be OK. (I trust ME clothing after nearly 40 years experience).
Take the refund and get a suitable jacket (sorry - you say coat).0
