We break up Friday for 2 weeks for half term.
Thank you x
Another busy week. Youngest has an appointment this morning and tomorrow. I have my own appointments Wednesday. School is closed Thursday and then I have things on at school I need to attend Friday.
I owe school £35
I have used this weeks grocery budget etc to help cover some of the direct debits and I've woke up and I've still gone overdrawn so today's rent direct debit will bounce
I've wrote them all down and I think by the first week in June there will be enough in on the right days to cover everything rather than being behind and stuff taking me into the unplanned overdraft and bouncing.
I feel stupid I changed everything at onceand didn't think of this.
Anyway best get the smalls ready. Have a good week

No reason to feel stupid about changing everything all at once. You only find things out by trying them! By doing it this way you do at least know what the impact is. The fact that DD days were different from cash payment days doesn't help, and going from weekly to monthly on some stuff is a massive change to budgeting.
You've made fantastic progress, and once this has all settled down it should make things easier and save you some money. Gas and electric use should be pretty low at the moment and for the next few months, so you'll be building up credit towards the more expensive winter months and making life easier for yourself. Eat salad and save money on the cooking when you can(It's been pointed out to me that my energy, water and food spends are currently so low because I'm away for work so much - I'm trying to see this as a way of saving, not just a way of getting tired!).
Give yourself a break - you're doing a great job of getting yourself organised and stretching your budget.0 -
Don't worry about the direct debit mix up, I'm sure it'll get sorted soon. Would it be worth trying to phone any of them? I'm not sure.
Such a sham about the cheque as that would have helped. Hope it arrives today!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

It's only a couple of weeks to go and you'll be straight again. Hope the cheque arrives soon x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Morning WB
Goodness, you have got a busy week ahead of you. You'll definitely be ready for half term and some more relaxed starts to the day.
I'm sure once the DD's are all sorted you'll find it much easier, but it does sound a bit of a nightmare at the moment.Does your bank charge for bounced DD's or do they just try again?
Hope DD's appointment went well. Have a lovely day. xx0 -
Thank you
Today turned out better than I thought and it didn't rain on us! Which I thought it would.
Youngest appointment was okay. Stay as we are for now.
Tomorrow we have a GP appointment for a 'normal' childhood ailment. Will no doubt require yuck antibiotics.
I'm exhausted. I'm looking forward to the half term in the hope I actually get a hot cuppa and some sleep!
I really want to try and fit the library in at some point as I've run out of reading material.
Hope everyone's well and I will catch up as soon as I can

Glad your day has been a good one and that DD's appointment went well. I think I look forward to school holidays just as much as DS. No packed lunch to make and a nice lie-in. It's brilliant

Have you looked at Project Gutenberg online for free downloadable books? I don't think my phone could cope with downloading a whole book but yours might be able to.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
