That all sounds good. Well apart from yet another injury! Only you really know where you are in your relationship with your Mum so I hope that all works out but, as I've said to you before, follow your instincts. And you might feel you're alone physically but we're all here for support.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Mum thing is difficult. However I give up
I give up trying to be good enough and it never being enough. After today I am so done. Once the smalls are home I will come to an arrangement where she can see the smalls and other than being polite that's enough.
I will manage with smalls. Have roped a neighbour in and took up offers of her doing school runs for this week at least. I can manage behind a closed door“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -

Well done on clearing the council tax. Sorry to hear about your Mum, but you've got enough going on so it's probably good to step away.
Sorry to hear about the new injury too, make sure you look after yourself xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Maybe one day things will be different. However currently I just give up on trying to be what she wants and it never being enough. I have other things I need to prioritise and I don't need her. It will be better all round this way.
Neighbour is a star. I feel awful asking her but she did say I should ask as she is doing the school run anyway with the smalls friend. Still don't like putting on anyone though so hopefully will just be a couple of days.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
I wonder how long your mum can bare grudges against you - I know she doesn't like things you did as a teenager but that must have been 20 years ago.
My mum certainly didn't like a lot of what I did as teenager especially getting pregnant but she never held it against me.
We can clash sometimes but I try to only visit once a month for an hour or so and it works well.
It's really sad that you can't be what your mum wants you to be - it's clearly her with the problem and not you.
I don't think this or anything with your ex has been helping your mental health.
This weekend you mentioned a compromise with ex - I hope this is a joint compromise and not a one sided compromise and that he was not the cause of the injury this weekend during the compromise talks.0 -
Not quite 20 years
Very nearly though..
I guess we have both made mistakes, both said things that shouldn't have been said.
Live and learn. I just won't be wasting as much time trying to fix it anymore. As long as we are civil for the smalls sake then I will have to learn to be happy with that. x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
If she offered you are not putting on her and "what goes around comes around!. At some point you'll be able to hep her out and she'll feel able to ask.
As for your Mother. Mine was very generous and kind but only on her own terms. She once fell out with me for six weeks because I decorated a room in MY house in a colour she didn't like. Seriously, I am not making this up.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
