Paint/Skirting Damage during Worktop Install

We had our nice quartz worktops installed today in our new kitchen and while the job was done really well we have noticed a few issues -

1. Few areas of the wall's have had some paint scraped off and will need repainting
2. They installers had to cut our skirting to fit waterfall edges in. There are now gaps between both the skirting and the waterfall edges - First gap is 5mm and second gap is 8mm
3. Small hole in the wall - 5cm in length (needs filling and painting)
4. They have not filled in gaps such as the top of the up stand and the wall and worktop meeting the up stand

While this is minor damage, we will still need to get someone in to rectify the issues. Is this to be expected or should they compensate us?

It's not uncommon for gaps and dinks to occur on an installation, it is unusual to expect compensation.

I would approach the company and ask them to rectify the faults, a little bit of caulking will make the 'problems' disappear.

You have to ask the installation company to put matters right, because they need the opportunity to rectify it before any liability for compensation can be shown.

That's the way these things work from a legal perspective.
