Amazon pending transaction errors

Just a heads up to anyone who has ordered with amazon in the past week check your pending transactions against your order amounts if you don’t do normally.

They have applied for over £70 more than they should have done from my account apparently it’s a system issue they are experiencing at the moment

I know I will get gnr money back eventually but it’s frustrating as hell

    Ahah - that's where that discrepency came from, thanks. To be clear for other readers:
    1) They didn't actually clear in the account more than needed, just reserved more than they should;
    2) My total bill was £77.92, and the "extra reservation" was about £70. Unclear therefore if it was a doubling (ie. they take the money plus an extra reservation) or a specific amount (£70 extra for every bill). Faith - can you confirm if your situation clarifies this?

    I placed 3 orders on Thursday totally £143.79 by Sunday they had taken £160.92 by yesterday lunch they had reserved £216.59.

    Don’t think it’s £70 per order as mine was across 3 on 1 for example they had taken payments of £41.97 £5 and £31.98 for an order worth £46.97

    It’s worth contacting them as they are refunding me as a goodwill gesture £70 off of my order that’s due Thursday as they don’t know how long it’ll be till the extra authorisations they have taken will clear

    Ah fair enough - my order was last Thursday, and the pre-auth had vanished by yesterday.
