EDF energy - change tariff function

Hi,
Has anyone else used EDF's tariff comparison?

The new tarriff they recommended was £4 p.a. cheaper. However, when I checked the new tarriff had identical standing charges compared to the old tarriff for both gas & elec (= no saving). The new tarriff had a higher rate per kwh for both gas & elec (= increased cost) yet they said the new tarriff was cheaper than the old.

Has anyone else noticed this?
Fiona

  • I assume you have less than 12 months left on your current tariff?

It will be a saving vs. Your Personal Projection (12 months from today) so if you have 3 months left on your existing tariff your current Personal Projextion will be based on the remaining 3 months of your current tariff and 9 months on the suppliers Standard tariff thereafter, which often results in the current tariff available showing as cheaper of the next 12 months.

No. I use a comparison site to compare the whole of market :)
