Investment risk tables anywhere?

I'm conducting a review of a number of investments I hold with various fund managers to update my risk profile before making further investment in Maxi ISA's.

In order to do this, I should like to know where I can obtain a table that has some indices and benchmarked risk assessment of any particular fund? i.e. is any given investment fund high, medium or low?

Can anyone point me toward such a thing please? My searches to date have not quite met expectations. Thanks in advance.

FT.com has some ratings in their fund guide, but I think they only have a 5-point scale, which isn't too useful!

Financial express works on a 1 to 75 scale for risk.

    I would look at:

    Morningstar
Create yourself a portfolio containing your holdings then look at the 'risk and rating' section for each fund to see what the standard deviation and average returns are for them. There are also alpha/beta/sharpe ratios included in the risk ratings section which help to give insight into how much value the manager is adding over time (trustnet's site has a decent description of these ratios).

Also look out for morningstar's own research anaylysis for each fund - they don't have it for many funds but when it is there it's very useful (see the 'research archive' link below).

Morningstar also have some good articles on their 'research' pages:

    Morninstar Research Archive

Relevant articles in last few weeks:

    Citywire
Check each fund to see how they've ranked over 1/3/5yrs within their sectors and also look at how each fund's manager is ranked over time.

    Bestinvest
Bestinvest are an IFA/broker, but their fund and fund manager research is very good IMO. Locate each of your funds via the 'funds research' menu and then look at the statistics popup window for them. On the performance tab of the popup window you can see how well the fund has done compared to the sector benchmark but more importantly you can also see how well the manager has done during his career (the MRI ratio, see the 'classroom' guides on risk on bestinvest site for more info on MRI).

    Trustnet
Trustnet are an arm of Financial Express who provide financial data feeds as mentioned by dunstonh above. They also provide info on various risk ratings. Also allows at a glance to see which quartile in it's sector a fund has been in for 1/3/5 years.

They also have an excellent description of the various risk ratios used - look at the 'help' section or click on the name of the ratio you're interested in on a fund's page to see it's description.
