Arthritis - do I need to advise car insurer/DVLA?

I've recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. At this moment in time, it does not affect my ability to drive. But do I need to inform my car insurance company and/or the DVLA?

Have a look at the DVLA guidelines regarding what medical conditions need to be dislosed.0

It's a material fact so depending on your insurance company if they request medical conditions on inception of the policy and apply continuance, then yes. If they don't require medical conditions on inception but again insurance is based on utmost good faith. Tell them anyway if you're not sure if you should or shouldn't and they'll tell you either way.0

Probably be best to notify insurer, but dont worry. Your insurance will remain the same, insurers can no longer discriminate against medical conditions. So as long as your cleared to drive by GP/dvla, then you have no problems.0
