washing machine - washing cycles time

My old washing machine (which was abou 8-9 years old) used to do washing between 30min to 1-1.5h on most of the cycles. Couple of years I have purchased a new indesit washing machine and all cycles (apart from 30C) run 3-4 hours. However, there is a 'quick' mode which reduces washing time to about 1.5-2 h. So I use this mode all the time because it is time efficient and I assuming that it saves water consumption.
I have read somewhere that using 'quick wash' mode all the time is not recommended? Is it really damaging for the machine and does it really saves water?

The quick wash uses more water and electricity so is less economical.0

to get the A+++++ ratings they have to use a lower temp than it says, and less water so need to run for longer to get the cleaning done.
The manual should have a table with some details.
if you used the A rating to choose the machine that could have been a waste of time if you don't use the washes it was measured with.0
