I'm looking to rekindle my childhood with a nostalgic game of Manic Miner 😀There looks to be a few online but I'm a bit wary of viruses/malware etc.
Can anybody recommend one?

Remember which machine you played it on back in the day?
Manic Miner was available for the ZX Spectrum (originally) and was later ported to the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, Commodore 16, Commodore 64 and others. All of these systems have emulators available to replicate the original machines and most platforms have a large number of the games that were available for them too from various repositories, I dare say Manic Miner is in there too0 -

Manic Miner is the game, as mentioned it ran on several platforms. You need an emulator for your choice of platform.
My choice for that game would be the MSX platform, as that is what i used to play it on mostly.

That's because it's the same version from all those years ago, most likely a Z80 snapshot of the original code.0 -
I still do.
You've still got one all these years later ?! So you're still doing the Load "" Enter thing, followed by 5 minutes of fax machine noises?
I spent hours and hours playing a game where you had a column of window panes on one side and a brick wall on the other site. And a ball bouncing back and forth. And you had a thing you could move up and down to protect the panes while demolishing the wall. Have you got that game?0 -

That could be any number of 'breakout' / 'bricky' type games, there are potentially hundreds. It does narrow it down quite a lot as you say 'side' rather than the more usual top to bottom.
