    Time is money,

    pre finished can work out cheaper if you are paying for the time.


    For a bedroom I would go matt white woodwork.

    Time is only money if the time you're using would otherwise have been spent earning. I suspect that most people would paint skirting themselves, after work or at the weekend, thus saving money compared to buying in new skirting and going to the hassle of replacing it.
