Hi All
as the title suggests, I currently have a 1.5TB Samsung Story Station + a 1TB Toshiba Stor-E portable drive which are both near enough full.
I am looking for any recommedations for either a 5TB (or bigger) single hard drive that I can purchase to transfer the files that are on these drives.
I have been looking at WD (8TB) as a rough guide, but really wanted everyones opinions' on WD, Seagate etc

Sometimes I wonder...
"why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
...and then it hits me
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Jesus loves you...A nice thing to hear in church, but a horrible thing to hear in a Mexican prison
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

There are only two hard drive manufacturers these days - Seagate and Hitachi. Seagate make the Seagate drives (obviously
), the Maxtors and Samsung drives. Hitachi makes Hitachi, Toshiba and the Western Digital drives.
Reliability wise they are pretty much the same these days, so I'd say get the biggest you can afford. After all, all drives hate it if they fall on the floor...0 -
Any disk partition larger than 2 TB will have to be formatted as GPT rather than MBR.
Perhaps work out the incremental costs of buying 2 TB, 3 TB, 4 TB, 5 TB, etc drives, and there is probably a 'sweet spot' above which the cost of the next 1 TB upwards gets much greater. Last time I did this anything above 3 TB was considerably more expensive per TB; it has probably changed now.
Otherwise, "what Neil Jones says ^^^"0
