view movies from hard drive on smart TV

Is Plex the best way to go for me to watch stuff on my PC hard drive on my samsung smart TV .
PC is upstairs TV down stairs.I use power plugs to send Broadband round the house.

I have Plex installed on my PC downstairs, and Plex installed on my Now TV box. It works brilliantly. There will be other methods, but you will need some app or device to channel it to your smart tv. I think you can get Plex on Amazon fire stick now.0

Depending on which Samsung smart TV you have you should be able to play movies direct from your hard drive upstairs without Plex or anything else. Check whether your TV has DLNA if it has it should be quite straightforward streaming your movies.0

Dell pc and 2 LG smart tv`s here all on the network
All i have to do is right click on the film on the pc then select cast to device ..Jobs a good un
