XML Sitemap Generator

Does anyone have any recommendations for sites or programs to do this please? My site has around 1000 pages and lots of free versions limit it to 500 pages.

I've tried this one
https://www.check-domains.com/sitemap/
which although claiming to index unlimited pages just did 56!

Googling for other ideas brought up a series of threads warning of malware which has made me very wary. I don't mind paying but in true MSE style, something cheap or free would be preferred.

Assuming you don't have a Wordpress website as there are a few plugins that do this for free.

Screaming Frog at £150 is a paid option but not sure what else there is. Might be worth searching some forums dedicated to webmasters or digital marketing as you might have more luck on the free front.

Thanks everyone. Not a WP site, so I'll give the paid XML-sitemaps a go as Bill suggests.
