Is Android going backwards, or have I missed a setting?
In previous versions of Android, when I started to key in a previously dialed number, numbers from my phonebook would appear and I could select the desired number. Now however, only saved contacts appear as an option.

it seems to only use saved numbers. i can't recall it ever using unsaved numbers myself but that doesn't mean it didn't.
i have noticed on this phone that if you dial an unsaved number or an unsaved number calls me (if it's a business) the name of the business shows up under the number which i think is a very handy feature.0 -
With all due respect Tony, previous issues of Android had that function, but since at least 6, it has been missing.
That's not the only useful item which has been deleted from recent Androids, but I can't remember at the moment what they are.David.0 -
Just tried it on my LG G5 Android 7 and it does bring up both 'contact's and 'dialled but not saved' numbers as I type the number0
