Morning all
Well I was rudely awakened this morning by a magpie eating breakfast in the trowing just above the bedroom window. My what a noisy eater ! Got up to shoo him off and saw a most beautiful deep red sunrise.
Not doing much today as Dad's coming for lunch and tea, so lunch will be roast pork, roast pots, veg, gravy and some yorkies. The oven is on and the veg are prepped ready.
I need dad to try on his jacket before I sew it up. I have left plenty of wriggle room if the sleeves are too short, they shoudn't be, but just want to check in case his arms have grown overnight :rotfl:.
Dumpling and family, I am sending you all lots of love and hugs.
Judi I hope things improve with Mr Grump and therefore helps you too.
Hugs to all and have a good Sunday.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Late start, we were both very tired last night so breakfast in bed and a lie in.
OH is clearing out the shed ready for it to be taken down again next week. I went out to get veg in and discovered that mice have been in the coal house......aarrgghhhhh I will have to bring in the garlis and onions that are hanging up on nails. THose little b*****s can climb up anything.
Veg prepped for lunch fruit for a crumble defrosting in the micro. I need to use up the fruit etc that I have in the freezers, some of it is from two years ago.
Dumpling, I am glad that Becky was able to come home for a short stay, hopefully they will be able to help with the self harming, so distressing for you.
Its a very cold but sunny morning here, If I had more energy I would have done a load of washing, fingers crossed its a fine day tomorrow. Still have the sheets etc to iron from last week...0 -
Lamewolf, I have been reading on another of your threads how upset and worried you are. Offering you a paw and a waggy tail from my Maxy boy. I really hope things settle down again for you and your DH.
As for me - well, I shall be glad when Thursday arrives and we can see what the consultant has to say; maybe then Mr LW will return to his usual self (though a conversation we had this morning may have actually given him pause to think - one hopes so.)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello everyone, Dumpling I'm thinking of your Becky and hoping that life will feel easier for her soon.
I must go and start footing about with a massive piece of
pork, did he think I was feeding the 5000, what comes over OH sometimes with quantities? This is going to mean several rubber pork meals. Need to make apple sauce and stuffing.
We have borrowed heaters, lovely downstairs but son has taken one up to his room so a bit less lovely than before and am waiting for heating engineer.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all. It's never warmed up today despite the sun. I went out to replenish the bird feeders mid afternoon and soon scuttled back in!
My shopping trip to the small retail park across town actually happened this morning and OMG HOLLY HARVEY your neighbour is right! Everyone must be Xmas shopping earlier this time as it was chaos in the car park - which isn't anywhere near big enough! Cars going round and round looking for a space and angry words getting exchanged when two drivers headed for the same vacated place!
I got the intended gifts for the menfolk from TKMaxx - my lucky day for a change! A Ben Sherman sweater for DD's bf (his fave brand) and a Berghaus fleece for DS (his fave leisure gear) so along with the stuff already stashed away for them, that's them two sorted at last!
My DB and SIL's garden is awash with bird feeders etc and I got them an RSPB bag for life a while back with the intention of filling it with bird treats, supplies etc. Thanks to Pets at Home that is now stuffed full! A joint pressie to accompany a few other bits and pieces already bought for them.
Just been consulting my list and not much left to buy now thank goodness. The end of the week should see everything bought for everybody!
My sojourn into £stretcher was a mixture of good and bad! No 2/3 step things but I picked up a tub of 50 fat balls (not netted yeah!) reduced to £2 'cos the lid and box side were cracked. Bargain!
We had a very late lunch so it's going to be a very late tea !!! supper I think. I have my new Snatam Kaur playing softly and Mr TA is snoring away. It's so relaxing and soothing to listen to. I could play her music all day and happily snooze away to it.
Have a good evening if you can folks and ((HUGS)) as always to those wanting them. Take care all xx
Why didn't the phantom edit like the word I used to separate tea and supper??!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Evening - the productive part of my day is almost done!
The main paperwork has been dealt with, only one mistake which I spotted three seconds after I pressed 'send' on the email. Typical...then I tackled the secondary paperwork which is now up to date. A few emails to those who fail to respond to first kick and one email to follow up a missing piece of the jigsaw.
A neighbour called round with his little son, they had been feeding the ducks and needed to have a hot drink. He recommended a different mouse poison, aniseed flavoured barley, which he finds really good for his holiday cottages. I haven't got a big problem as I can't hear any scramblings any more, however the peanut butter is being eaten without the trap being sprung, think the mice are too wee and light!
I've not put on the woodburner today, somehow, even with the temperature down to nine degrees, I wasn't cold enough to light it up. I did vacuum the box this morning and then had to empty the ashes onto the corner dump in the garden.
I had a very fruitful conversation with BT about a mobile SIM. My usual mobile provider has poor network signals here but I'm locked into a 12 month contract until May next year. Ex-OH has the BT SIM which has much better reception here so I've ordered a £5.00 a month / 1GB / unlimited texts and 200 minutes one as a second backup for leaving in the car for emergencies. Next year I'll get a PAC and transfer over to BT properly with a different plan.
Now it's time for a glass of wine and bit of telly watching. SCD will be particularly interesting (I've read the spoiler).
All the tales of horrific shopping trips just makes me shudder. Not going to do it.
Hope everyone is warm and cosy!0 -
Sorry just come on to have a rant !
I hope you will forgive me.
Dad's just gone home and I couldn't wait to see the back of him. He has been better lately but today he has been the most annoying, disagreeable person I have ever met . He has no social skills whatsoever and at present I am seething . He even argued with Mr Fix It and came off worse, but was then dismissive. I just want to scream !
It's at times like this I really miss my Mum, he wouldn't have dared say such things if she had been here.
Sorry but I had to get things off my chest and I have bent poor Mr Fix It's ears too.
Thanks for being there, hope to calm down by tomorrow.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Nannywindow you rant away, your not the only one with a cantankerous parent.... Nelski where are you?
One thing i regret about my relationship with my Mom i didnt argue back, even when she was in the wrong. Knowing she could say such awful things to me probably made her worse.
I remember going down to see her when she was about to move flat. My Son went with me to hump a few boxes... After he had moved loads of heavy boxes and went, she curled her nose up and said she didnt like him.
Instead of ignoring it i should have given her a piece of my mind.

Karcher - sorry you are having a bad night, I hope that you feel a bit better in the morning.
Judi and Karcher - I've been in exactly the same situation as both of you, and like you two didn't say what I should have.0
