Wrong laptops sold by Currys

Hello Forum
Good afternoon, please may I seek some legal advise. I bought 2 laptops on 07/10 from Currys for my new small business. I am a self employed person. After 2 weeks someone from Currys store rang me to inform that these are the wrong laptops. They actually cost £850 each. I only paid 350 each, I had no idea at all as I am not a technical person. I agreed to return them back, but the problem I have is I installed a new software and customers data. I still don't mind to return, I have to transfer the data and give my staff time off to make ready the new laptops. 2weeks ago I received a threatening call from the store , he threatened me if I don't return back he will report me to Fraud team. He was nasty, rude and spoke to me with disrespect. I mentioned about his behaviour in Currys Facebook page. Now they offering me £150 as a compensatoon and wants laptops back. I asked £300 which means I have to reinstall the software on the laptops and give half a day off to my staff. Could you please let me know if I don't return these back to Currys what legal action Currys can take against me. I really fed up with this company.awful attitude and unprofessional staff. Please share your expertise. Thanks Sammy

You won't find legal advice on here - its an anonymous forum where anyone can post.

As a business, you don't have the same protection as a consumer. Entering contracts is an everyday occurrence to a business so they're expected to do due diligence. For a start, you will likely find currys T&C's exclude business losses.

Did the technical person that installed the software not notice the different spec?

Have you given them a breakdown of the £300 you are looking for?

You purchased them as a business and so your consumer rights are somewhat limited, even more if you purchased through the PcWorld business side.

Their legal rights are to either reclaim the laptops or take you through the courts for the difference between the laptops to their business.

Also where does £300 come from. I doubt the two laptops are used 7 days a week, so even if you could claim for loss you need to minimise your losses.
