Switching Bank Accounts - Benefits Question

Morning,
I have just signed up to switch from the co-operative to Tesco for my bank account.
I am a carer for my mum and receive carers allowance.
Does anyone know if the switching account process includes benefits or do I need to contact the DWP to move the carers across?
I don't want to confuse things by ringing DWP up and doing so - only for the bank to do whatever it is they do and cause a potential problem this time of year.
