Letting Agent Misrepresentation?

  • I suppose you have already made a formal complaint to the letting agent using their internal complaint procedure.
    Also I presume you have written to The Property Ombudsman - there are couple of such ombudsman service that every letting agent in England needs to be a member of.
    Did you take any photographs during any of the viewings?
    Finally, have you been provided with inventory and schedule of condition?

    Or get them to write it down and sign it.
    And I expect that's what it will come down to. If your agreement to sign the lease was conditional to these actions having taken place, then you should have got them to write it down before handing over the fee.
