Nationwide Mortgage PPI

Evening,

I am late to this but have recently found out that I have/had PPI on a Nationwide Mortgage, they appear to dragging their heels some what as to any updates another 25 days left in the 56 day response period. Does anyone have any experience of claiming against Nationwide? I was totally unaware that I had this cover and both my wife and I have 6-12 month sickness full pay but his insurance was still in place and if it was in place at the beginning of our mortgage that was 16 years ago and at no point have we missed a payment or indeed been sick with standing the ordinary minor ills.

Any help or advice would be gratefully receievd.

You cannot have been unaware you had this. You would had had to sign a form to say that you had read and undrstood all,the terms and conditions.

You should check all your direct debits as it is worrying that you do not know what you are paying.

Which is not a reason for complaint with MPPI. The FOS have been rejecting complaints for that reason (its a good reason with loan and credit card PPI though).

Excellent. Insurance is about the what ifs. Some people suffer them. Some do not. The aim is to never suffer a claimable event but be covered if the worst does happen.

  • What ifs... I have cover through my job for what ifs....

I was unaware of thd PPI as there would appear to be no break down on my mortgage repayments.

    Thanks for the advice
  • Nope no break down on my mortgage repayments also was memorably informed I was not able to gain lifr insurance due to my profession of choice upon which the mortgage was sold

So, your company would pay your mortage for a year if you were made redundant?
It doesnt really matter. We know the FOS position is different to your opinion.

None of what you have said suggests missale. However, banks and building societies are unpredictable and there may be something in the audit trail that you havent mentioned or are not even aware of.

  • There is no redundancy in my job no right to strike either
