    Im out.

I submit to your assertion that the mentioned result is acheived by a mixture of witchcraft and coincidence

I'm really not sure how I can explain it any more clearly...

    * My wife and I both have separate devices (not PCs) on the same WiFi network.
    * These devices will both have the same external IP address as far as FB is concerned.
    * These devices do NOT have any adblocker running.
    * We also have separate FB accounts.
    * We do NOT get shown the same adverts.

Therefore, my assertion remains true ... it is not JUST IP address that is the factor for the OP; your original reply said ...
You are linked by IP address

I have explained a situation that shows that your one-line statement was not 100% accurate.

So what's the problem? If I'm wrong, please give a proper explanation rather than throwing your toys out of the pram. This is after all a discussion forum ... we're all (supposed to be) adults here. :)

    Let's break this down

User A is NOT on facebook - doesnt have an account.

User B , on using facebook, on a different device, sees ad's for stuff that user A has been looking at.

Please explain to me, what link these 2 devices have, apart from external IP address ?

    You are not thinking logically.

In other situations, things like cookies, web cache etc will cause linked ads - but in this situation the only common factor is IP address.
Just because it doesnt happen in your house, doesnt mean it doesnt happen

My answer to the OP may have been a one liner, and may not have been accurate for your situation

But is an accurate answer to the posed question

Ah ... I didn't spot that the OP was not on FB, sorry.

Now if your post #13 had been your original response to my posts #4 or #7 ........ ;)
