Know what you mean about homeowning, I'm on £21k a year which I don't think is fab but I know a lot of people probably do, and won't entertain buying a house for years yet as I want to make sure I can command a salary to afford it and pay off everything first. It's a pain though isn't it.
I put my CV on Monster.co.uk yesterday night and 12 agencies called me this morning - so maybe try that?
I wouldn't recommend call-centre work myself but each to their own of courseNothing to be scared of though really, have done it (inbound, for insurance) and it was okay work, okay money, and easy. There were about 100 people in the whole office, and in my team about 10. Currently there's 100 here again, but 5 in my team who I actually talk to day-to-day. It's not like I have contact with everyone here, and a lot of people are probably in similar situations?
Thing is, it's hard to get far if you're quite picky about that although there are plenty of small companies around.
Maybe if you work to increase your confidence, and get your parents/friends to help, it could really benefit you:A0 -
P.S. You're already part way there with the non-shyness (not that this is a bad thing, I'm a loudmouth and it gets me in trouble!) - you've posted about your life on this very public board, that takes guts and its something I'm shy about doing!!!:A0

lol, thanks dearbarbie,
Its easy for me to post on here because im not face to face to people.:D:rolleyes:
I know why im like this, i used to be full-time supervisor in an underwear shop for about 2 1/2 years with ok money, a new girl started there who i was in charge of obviously. we got quiet close went clubbing together etc. Then one day i walked into work greeted by the manager who told me this so called friend of mine said i was stealing from the shop. Which got me the sack! I hadnt stolen anything she said i had stolen 2 bras. And the week perviously i was telling my manager how good the bras were. So the manager assumed i had stolen them.
The next day when i went back to the shop with my debit card statement showing i hadnt stolen anything. I was told there would be an atomsphere if she gave me my job back with the other girl. I told her where she could stick her job anyway for sacking me without any proof.
Then the so called friend/work mate had been round to all my friends told them all sorts of lies and turned them all against me. So this is where my confidence / trust issues have come from.
I now only have 2 close mates so dont have a social life apart from with my OH.
Ive been thinking of taking up an evening course to get some new skills and to make some more friends to get my confidence back up again.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

i cant see them (at work) but will check later!
that's pants about your job - sorry to hear that. did you ever follow-up an unfair dismissal? i can see why you have lost your confidence ;(
an evening course could be a good idea to get a qual for a new job, but may cost (although you may be entitled to discounts, good to meet people too. i moved to a new city (London) a few months ago and haven't made many friends except workmates, and they all live far away. my OH lives here, luckily his mates are becoming mine but need to make my own. do you know your OH's friends?:A0 -

Just found this diary. I have done exactly the same thing as you have done, started a DFW diary today, only got about £4000 in debt but am really hoping to buy a house ASAP so want to get it sorted.
