Infrared Panels vs other ?

Long story but we now have an open plan kitchen lounge which has two outside walls to the lounge side. It has one large radiator in the lounge but even though the rest of the house can boil ! if we out the temperature high the lounge never quite warms up ( my wife is from the caribbean .. ) ...
We have looked at fitting another radiator but getting a recommended plumber is like gold dust , we looked at electrical heaters but ( no disrespect intended for those who have one ) we feel the electric fires look a little naff. The other option I've seen lately is infrared panels that sit on the wall.. they seem around £150 for a 400w panel.
Are they any good ?
Our lounge is about 4x4metres
cheers

Not sure if you already did but did you consider underfloor heating like http://amzn.to/2jypojT It would heat up your kitchen more evenly .
Infrared panels aren't a bad idea. In fact a friend of mine installed an infrared panel but with a touch of art, similar to - http://amzn.to/2zPpGa3 . Didn't even notice it when we walked in. But then, they used it in their lounge, I am sure you can find one that matches your kitchen as well.
Apart from above, a simple oil filled electric heater like http://amzn.to/2hIV1qu would be your cheap and best option if you are happy with it's aesthetics.

No.....Don't go for electric heating, it costs a fortune to run, about 4 times the cost of gas. Easier in the short run, but will cost you in the long term.
You'd be better off pursuing the plumber route and fitting either a bigger radiator or a new radiator.
Out of interest, it sounds like this is a recent problem, did you originally have a second radiator before the conversion?
Another option could be a under-plinth heater, than mounts under your kitchen cupboards. You can get 'hydronic' ones that take their heat from the central heating system (so much lower running costs, if central heating connection is available), or regular electric ones.
