Sterlingbusinesses.com Legal To Sell eBay accounts?

Hello

I am looking to start a business on eBay but with the low limits and selling allowances it's almost impossible. Been looking online on the business for sale sites and noticed some people selling established eBay businesses For sale. I had spoken to a guy called Nathan coombe who has sent me a invoice but not sure if it's legit? Is it legal to buy and sell eBay accounts?

Does anyone have any experiences with sterling businesses ltd or buying or selling a eBay?

I don't want to end up getting sued by anyone. Looking for advice

I've moved this to the eBay and others board where I think you might get better responses.

Buying an eBay business is possible as long as you buy the business, not just the name, and for that you would need a proper legal rep to draw up business contracts for the goodwill etc. The company you mention is one of the ones that sells accounts only, which is definitely not allowed on eBay. They buy up accounts from people who are leaving eBay (I've been offered money for mine in several occasions) and you merely take over the name and rating. It is a very bad way to start a business as once eBay discover what has happened you will lose the account. You also inherit any recent issues the seller might have had as you effectively will be trading as them

As for whether eBay will catch you, with the requirement to register your business address on eBay they may (only may) ask you to show the name and address change documents when you change and that might prove a sticking point for the original holder who believes they just sell the name and don't actually have any link with the new owner.

Best to start properly, if this is going to be s proper business then why start off on shaky ground. List a few things, get a bit of good feedback and request an uplift in listing allowances. We are all happy on here to give further advice.
