Some advice please Egg Card

My husband took out an Egg credit card in 2000, he susequently defaulted on it and was taken to court, he now has a CCJ, which we are paying off in monthly instalments.
My questions are.
Will the account still be open.
Will it be owned by Canada Square or Barclays.
I have written to Canada Square operations twice with original account number and some previous addresses ( we only met in 2007 so we did a credit check to find the address where he lived when he took out the card).
I have written to them again with a ton of info relating to his identity and previous addresses, but I am wondering if the account is still 'open', should I be writing to Barclay Card.
Sorry meant to say it was a SAR request that I sent to Canada Square.
We want to find out if he had PPI on the card
