Whirlpool dishwasher warrantys

In April 2016 Whirlpool increased the standard warranties on all of its white goods products to 2 years standard. I purchased a Dishwasher end of Feb 2016 which has already broken once and been repaired under warranty and has now broken again. What is my best course of action as Whirlpool are telling me i don't fall under the warranty as my purchase was just over a month outside of when they changed their standard warranty. Should a dishwasher break down twice in less than 2 years it seems like that's not very fit for purpose?

Any ideas guys?
