unwanted programme

Hi

We have a spyware removal programme that has installed itself on to our computer, basically telling us we need to buy a programme called spyshredder 2.1, we dont want this product but seem to be unable to get rid of the part that has attatched itself to our pc. We have tried to press uninstall, but it remains, we have been into add and remove programmes and its not there, dont know where else to look.

Any advice welcome
