Capital One Cashback application processing time?

How soon after submitting a Capital One online application would I typically receive my card?

I ask because I want to apply as late as possible before, but still in time for, my holiday in November; but I also definitely still want the 4% cashback available in January for the sales!

Also, are Capital One likely to "pull a first one" and send my first statement just a few days after receiving the card as has happened to me with other companies before?

I got mine within a couple of weeks. I thought the cashback offer runs from the day you activate the card, so you could apply early and activate it just before you use it - you might want to check that rather than take my word for it. My first statement came about a month after the application, so < 1 month after I started using it.

Mine took far too long. They said it was due to customer demand. Trouble is once they approve your application, they send you a form to sign in the post, then your card arrives in the post.... need I say more?

I missed paying for my holiday which would have netted me over £100 in cashback....

My card arrived today, about 10 days after sending the form back, not bad at all with the postal strike. My pin came in the same post too, presumably either the card or pin had been held up in the post as getting them together doesn't usually happen.

As has been mentioned many times, you can buy loads of stuff without your PIN.

You can use the card on-line or over the phone without a PIN so this includes groceries, holidays, car insurance, house insurance etc. so you can make some of your major purchases without the PIN.

Yes it is a shame about the postal strikes but I don't think Capital One are responsible for the postal strikes (responsible for choosing to use Royal Mail - YES, responsible for the strikes - NO).
