Can anyone recommend the best software (preferably free) to draw a simple floor plan.
We want to extend our kitchen and think the first thing we should do is a floor plan.

If you have access to Microsoft Visio, that will be great - use it. You can download 30 day trial version from https://products.office.com/en-au/visio/visio-professional-free-trial-flowchart-software
You can also use Sketchup and create a 3D model of the house which can then be translated to a 2D floor plan. You can download it form https://www.sketchup.com/
Apart from this, you can also use https://floorplanner.com/ for simple floor plans.

Thanks for the reply.
I have not got access to Visio but the other two look interesting and Floorplanner looks the easiest to learn so I will give it a go.0
