Nationwide Flex Direct Internet Registration.

Anyone had problems with getting their Internet access up and running ?

1. Registered for a Flex Direct Account and opened ok.
2. Got sent the bank card and pin > all ok so far.
3. Can use the card at cashpoint, can xfer money to the Account.

But...

When try to register for Internet Access it keeps saying that "since you have registred within the past 7 days you cannot register again at this time".

I have received a letter now with the pass number on it. It says I can use this to logon to Internet banking and it says I will need a customer number (yes tick), a pass number (yes tick), memorable data (no haven't set this up).

The letter says I can enter my memorable data the first time I logon on > but it rejects it.
I can't register to set up the memorable data due to the 7-day rule above.

Have tried ringing them but 30min wait time...

Is there anyway out of this convoluted maze ????

Did you do this step using a browser?

Yes I tried entering a piece of memorable data...it just says it is invalid. Probably because I haven't set it up yet (I'm guessing).
  • Yes same here.

I phoned NW to ask, and they advised to wait 7 days from the date my online account was "registered" automatically by their system, and then try to re-register again (since I chose no memorable dates or names etc. when opening the account).

It worked, and was a bit of a faff, but luckily I didn't need to use the account immediately.

Same experience as Gary. I too waited 30+ mins on help line. I had been trying to log on with an old Barclays card reader but they advised that card reader functionality was not yet switched on but would be on the 14th. Tried again then and all was well and and also able to choose memorable data. Everything working properly now and the faster payments are very fast indeed. Still no sign of the n/wide card reader though
