I understand the T&C's that say I should keep in Credit, by the end of the year I will be 100 units in credit on my current projection.

    Thank you

100 units or £100? Unless you switch suppliers in, say, April and build up a summer credit then many of the new/small suppliers are demanding extra money if a debt on the account becomes likely. They have to pay their wholesalers in advance of supply and they do not have the ability to borrow money at competitive rates. It is worth looking at some of the recent accounts of some of the small suppliers to see how much debt they have built up prior to taking on customers.

I had an advance notification of a £13 Direct Debit increase last month when Iresa posted I was in debit, this mistake was corrected and I went back to the normal DD payment.

i am in credit and Iresa have notified me again of an increase in my DD, I have received no reply after using online tickets, email and Twitter, btw I am not alone on Twitter as many have the same issue of increased DD's when in they are credit, does anyone know what is happening?

My meter readings are sent in monthly to Iresa as requested

This useful MSE article will assist you if you feel a change in a monthly DD amount requested by any energy supplier is unfair

I found Iresa very amenable to a request to revert my monthly DD to the former amount when I found myself in a similar situation.

i.e. after I identified to them a billing error.

They did the reversion whilst I was on the phone to them. See the Iresa feedback thread linked to by me in post#4 of this thread back in November.

Would have been better than bumping this thread last posted in early December, don't you think?

    Good luck!

Iresa were amicable in December and corrected their error, they are dragging their feet in January.
Tthey have increased DD's for many when they are in credit, 94 in a queue is beyond my patience limits (as some have reported) due to this error?
I have now found the Iresa feedback thread on the forum, which didn't come up in a search for some reason

Post #1539 seems to give a reasonable analysis

So what is your present £credit balance?

The other problem is that our personal calculations often differ from what the supplier's algorithm suggests. I had a situation a couple of years ago when I was with one of the Big 6 where the supplier re-calculated my annual projected usage based on my first 3 months usage in Winter divided by 3 times 12. I took my complaint all the way up to The Energy Ombudsman who ruled that suppliers can assess annual usage in anyway they wish (or words to that effect) to avoid consumers getting into debt. I just ditched and switched to a (then) cheaper deal.

PS. I followed MSE's advice on DD reductions and it got me absolutely nowhere.

I've had issues with Iresa since I switched that prevented me from submitting readings, and so the "estimated" reads (numbers pulled out of thin air, but I digress) had me in substantial debit with them threatening to take a one time payment and up my DD. I was finally able to submit readings this week, and it turns out I'm actually in substantial credit.

I got on the phone today and it was actually pretty painless (apart from the wait to get through to an operator) to get them to cancel the one off payment and substantially reduce my DD. Of course, the DD comes out tomorrow and it was too late to change that one, so it'll be a month before I know if it actually worked.

£12.00 + is my current Credit based, on my late December reading on the date chosen by Iresa which covers my bill up to Dec 31st 2017
