Car insurance advice

Can anyone advise me regarding this please?

Last Nov while in slow moving traffic my daughters wing mirror was smashed by a car going (faster) in the other direction. The other driver was aggressive and told my (19 yo) daughter it was her fault which I don’t agree with.
He reported it to his insurance company, first we knew when we had a call from our insurers, turned out we both had the same insurer, we were advised he later dropped the claim so no claim, no loss was told nothing to declare here.

Just renewed our (multi car) insurance with the same company, rang to discuss the quote, agreed amount, renewal from 9/11.
Received a letter today saying due to ‘new info’ extra premium due of £390 which they will take next week.
Rang to question this, was told due to her ‘claim’ she is now considered a higher risk, I argued there was no loss, no claim was persued so no loss to the insurance company whatsoever but they said regardless she is now considered a higher risk (because someone else hit her wing mirror when she was virtually stationary in traffic?!) and if I get quotes all other insurers will also treat it as such.

Is this true? Can they do this after I have agreed and paid the premium? It doesn’t seem right

There was no claim but there was an incident with damage to two cars.
Cant answer in the case of other insurers but they do ask about accidents & claims, not just claims.
