OK, weird update on this I got a reply this afternoon. They said that they can only help if I have paperwork as they don't have access to customer accounts. I've checked and haven't got any paperwork. When I said that I'd go direct to the Ombusdman I got this reply.


"Just to let you know the Financial Ombudsman won't have any powers in these matters. We aren't the ones who mis-sold you the loans. The original Cheque Centre has gone out of business, we have only bought the brand names and IP. We are looking to settle claims out of goodwill and to try and restore the good name of the brand for when we relaunch it at some point in the future. We can only do that if an individual has paperwork as we don't have access to historical records.

Of course this doesn't prevent you from registering a complaint against the previous owners of the Cheque Centre via the FOS, or contacting the administrators and trying to claim from them directly.

I thought when someone took a company out of administration they had to honour the mis-selling? I'm not interested in making a complaint to punish them, I know it wasn't their fault. But surely they still have to pay?

Cheque center loans have been took over by quick loans now and you can still claim the intrest back etc back . . Barings solicitors are dealing with mine
