It's worth a go. As others have stated there may be money even though they've gone into administration. It's not unheard of for there to be a ringfenced (but limited) fund for paying complainants in situations like this.0

Thanks for your comments ( well most of them !! ) as I have had an acknowledgement of my complaint and then a letter to say there are no monies and claim form will be sent to me. I have forwarded onto the FOS for their view0

The people saying about administration are barking up the wrong tree. The FSCS pays out on complaints about regulated firms that have gone bust.urs sinserly,

It is, unfortunately, more complicated than that. It's pretty much only banks, insurance companies and investment firms which are covered by the FSCS. Your garden variety payday lender isn't covered, so the FSCS isn't going to shell out if they go bust owing you money.
To the OP - if your letter from the business/administrators/liquidators says there is no money then that's a bad sign. All FOS can do is order them to pay up, but if they don't have the money to do it then it's hard cheese I'm afraid. They can't pay you with money they don't have.0 -

Hi Gaily123
Have you heard anything back with regard to this please? I am in a similar position as yourself and registered a complaint with them about 1 month ago not realising they had gone into administration. Is it still worth going to FOS or pointless?0 -
The OP logged off 10 minutes after they last posted 3 months ago and hasn't been back.0

No harm in going to FOS, its free, well it costs a stamp.0 -
Worth a shot, just dont get your hopes up.
Thanx,
I got a reply from them this afternoon saying that they are looking into claims and asked me to forward them some paperwork as they don't have access to it. As you say, if they do its a bonus but not counting chickens yet. I'm trying to get back about £400 approx in interest which is a lot of money to me at the minute, worth the effort.
