12 days ago a parking notice left on a windscreen. Today a received a Parking Charge Notice came in the post.

Just wanted other people opinions based on the images below.

The Parking Charge Notice says the car is parked on private land?. It looks as the car is parked on the road. Surely the private land is behind the gate? As the car is not blocking the gate, what is the issue?

I presume the windscreen ticket was from myparkingcharge ?

and todays NTK in the post from VCS ?

it may well be private land but you wouldnt know without checking with the Land Registry for a few quid

there are no signs in those photos and no yellow lines or anything to indicate any contractual basis

if it is from VCS, then follow the IPC advice with template appeal from the keeper in the NEWBIES sticky thread, and appeal as keeper

this will not mean the charge is dropped or cancelled , its a paper exercise

then IGNORE anything except an LBC or an MCOL within the next 6 years

welcome to the world of private parking sc@mmers

ps:- edit post #1 to show what THE DRIVER may have done

Today I have received a letter from the county court business claim. I responded to the first letter and ignored everything since. What are my options now?

Sorry about the quality my wife has just taken a photo of the letter and sent it to me in work.

Your options are to pay now or defend now

Assuming you want to defend then study #2 in the newbies FAQ thread

That covers Court claims right through from the lbcca to the hearing

Construct a defence and post it here for comments before sending it

As fully expected, you now have your claim form like most people, on any other thread you care to mention.

I'm a bit surprised you haven't properly, in the several months gap, read the second post of the NEWBIES thread, most people are far more prepared than you appear to be and would have done the AOS online (as walked though in pictures in the NEWBIES thread) by now and not just asked 'what do I do/what are my options?'

Obviously everyone defends. 99% here report a win.

So let's hear the date on that claim form, and assure us that you HAVE done the AOS, and then show us your draft defence like everyone else does by reading the examples.

That Claim form doesn't even say how they contend you are liable!

Doesn't even say in the Particulars of Claim, what the alleged contravention was or even if they think you were the driver, or the registered keeper, of that car.

Is this a BW Legal claim or VCS themselves signing at the bottom?
