Animated Avatars

Can anyone tell me if there is anyway I can create my own personal animated avatars for MSE? Is there any software, what are the size and frame limits for MSE? Getting bored with my current avatar and really want to create my own.

Thanks in advance ;)

Interesting, but I am hoping for a downloadable version so I can create my own animated gif from either jpeg bmp or avi (poss frame by frame) and saving finished product as an avatar or .gif file. If that makes sense ;)

This is only of use if you already have, or have access to, Photoshop, but you can use that to create animated gifs for avatars, banners etc. I used it to produce a fairly simple avatar with text animation using layers, but I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use images on layers too!
If you DO have access to Photoshop (and ImageReady) then the following website (not mine - I found it by entering "Creating Animated Banners in Photoshop" in Google) might help: http://www.tutorialwiz.com/animated_banner/
It gives you the basic techniques with which you can play.
Otherwise, you could try ULead Gif Animator, which occasionally appears on PC magazine cover discs - it's basic but does allow animation and various effects.

Use the free trial of Gif 5, its the program I use for animation. http://www.ulead.com/ga/runme.htm
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching

  • Whit Unfreez is a basic and tiny freeware gif animation app, if you have already created the individual frames
