It seems that with E-on, I can only get the warm home discount if I had other benefits, whereas when I was with OVO, they allow people on very low incomes, on disability benefits to apply.
Sadly, i'm on contribution ESA rather than income related ESA, which is causing me to miss out.
I just didn't know if, as a company, E-on accepted people on very low incomes, if they didn't have the qualifying benefits. Sadly, it seems it doesn't.

Hi skint kezza
I have a problem with warm home discount this time around too. It would appear that I would only qualify for the Warm Home Discount if I switched to OVO Energy as it turns out that they are the only company that I can find who did accept customers who had chronic illnesses and who were eligible for free prescriptions as a result. Im wondering if this was the criteria in which you qualified when you were with OVO. Indeed it appears I'm too late to switch to OVO as they have now closed the WHD scheme. It's annoying that certain energy suppliers will only accept certain categories of people from the broader group. It seems a bit unfair. Maybe next year I'll switch to OVO, but who knows by then, they will also change their criteria0 -
British Gas grabbed my Warm Home discount back when I switched to Ovo in october.
this has all but wiped the savings in switching
they say ovo should pay the remaining months! Can they do this, as I won't now get another discount until next spring.
shouldn't this have been flagged as a warning on the Energy Club site and isn't it a strong disincentive again switching?
